Milano, Bagatti

Elegant house museum, located in what is now the center of the fashion district.  Fabulous collection (late 19th c.) of two brothers, Barons Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi.  Intrigued by modern conveniences, they installed central heating, electricity, hot and cold running water.
Grateful for their generosity (donated as a museum in 1974), allowing a step back in time.
Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone, culinary treasure, right next door.

  1. The first image, the woman with the staff on the right, is so beautiful–Did you put it together? Where is she/who is she?

    1. Mystery lady, caught my eye. Neglected to get any details, will have to return! Yes, my collage. Historic houses, furnishings/collections intact, find so appealing, easy to imagine another period in time. The brothers liked hot air ballooning. Their heirs watched the moon landing from one of the rooms we visited. Fascinating, travel opens the eyes.
